Effect of cooling methods on mechanical and corrosion properties of Inconel 625 during solution treatment

Abstract Inconel 625 alloy is a nickel-based deformation superalloy which widely used in aviation, ocean engineering, chemical engineering and other important fields. In recent years, with the continuous expansion application field of alloy, requirements mechanical properties, corrosion resistance comprehensive properties are constantly improved. this paper, hardness tester, tensile machine, electrochemical workstation, optical microscope, scanning electron microscope equipment to study microstructure evolution law under different heat treatment conditions studied. The experimental results show that as-cast mainly composed austenite displayed high poor resistance. Heat common way for tunning alloy. After 1090°C treatment, cooling method were tune rate has great influence on water cooling, precipitation Nb carbide at grain boundary retained, improves performance air or furnace chromium precipitates again, leads decrease special can effectively improve plasticity material without reducing strength. This paper provides an effective basis optimizing process production material.
